Book exhibit? Didn't even have time to visit it. Most of the events were held in four or five large rooms on the first floor.
The largest crowd up to that point in the conference gathered for this Plenary lecture at the end of the sessions on Friday featuring Mr. Akbar Etemad, Former President of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI). Session chair Ali Banuazizi is speaking at the podium. Gholamreza Afkhami (right) of the Foundation for Iranian Studies is also a discussant.
Mr. Edward Westnidge (University of Manchester) on "Iran's Cultural Foreign Policy During the Khatami Era."
Session titled "Retrospectives on US-Iranian Relations". The seat on the right is reserved for Hossein Derakhshan who was supposed to present his paper "New York Times versus Iran", but he never showed up.
Session chair Uzi Rabi (Tel Aviv University) is speaking. He knew Derakhshan from Hossein's previous trip to Israel.
Another popular panel. This one was titled "Political Prisoners in Iran: Narrating Insubordination, Desiring Truth"
