I was never sure when it was OK to take a photo, when it wasn’t. So often I shot in great rush to make sure I wasn’t stopped.
This is a movie theatre. Instead of movie posters you find Hamid Karzai's poster next to that of Ahmad Shah Masoud .

Another shrine. If I remember correctly it is the shrine of a saint with two swords, as in ‘Shah-e dow Shamshira’ shrine. Hence the two swords on the facade.
There is a man sitting literally amongst this sea of pidgins and sells seeds, but the birds are so well behaved. They only eat what is thrown at them on the ground.
It seems like even the gods of rain have abandoned this city. I was told there used to be a decent stream flowing through here until a few years ago.
