Other journalists from Radio Zamaneh and local "Shahre Ma" on bottom left and right.
Mr. Shahram Kholdi (University of Manchester) talked about "Political Memoirs and the Historiography of the 1979 Revolution."
Ramin Asgard passed out two publications done by his office, both entirely in Farsi. One of them was a primer on the US Higher Education system. He said his office is looking to do more to reach the people inside Iran.
A very interesting and well-attended session titled "Postrevolutionary Constellation". The person at the far right is Kamran Safamanesh of the The Urban Research Institute of Tehran. He presented a paper on "Architectural Environment of the Post-Revolution Tehran."
This conference was high quality. I've been to over a dozen academic conferences so far, and I have to say this was one of the best operated conferences I have seen. The registration packet includes a nice program in professional layout, glossy paper decorated with Persian art inside the pages. The rooms were large with plenty of chairs and very well equipped. The rooms had multiple microphones, auxiliary lighting, video camera and a projector already set up. Most importantly, things started and ended pretty much on time. Amazingly, I saw no technical glitches. Congratulations to Dr.
Session titled "Vistas of Iranian Oikoumene in the Late Antique and Medieval Period".
(No, I didn't find out what Oikoumene means)
Charles Kurzman (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill) presented "A Feminist Generation in Iran?" This included the results of surveys he conducted in Tehran.
