It was Easter holidays and nearly all businesses and government
officers were closed. The streets were deserted. My first look at one
of the busiest cities in the world during the quietest time.
In front of the Copacabana Palace Hotel, where celebrities often stay,
I'm told. (As soon as we walked inside the staff kicked us out because
there was a "private party" going on :)

At the hostel I quickly became friends with four wonderful
Brazilians who were visiting Rio from another state.

El Misti hostel. I highly recommend it. Very nice staff.
Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Four short blocks to the beach.
First thing I did was eat: spicy chicken and potatoes.
It was so good after three months of spice-less food in Buenos Aires:)
