POETRY
In memory of Vazgin Mansourian*
The king hung you like a crucifix
From the neck of my city, Isfahan:
With your cathedral and cobblestones
With your taverns and goldsmiths
And your blushing daughters.
The city remained apart from you
Lying beyond Zaiandeh River.

O rose, come and dance
On my heart as its soil
Has been dry
For too long.
O moon, come and smile
As there are a thousand
Willing flirtatious ones at
The door, these shining stars

POETRY

POETRY
Each time I look upon an infant
I wish him a life beyond
What I had, made, and did not
And I ponder what would I do
If I did have a child....
I would knit him a pair of socks and say:
“May your tiny feet be
Always toasty and warm”

POETRY
Dedicated to my father, the Singing Man
There I sat, a little girl
In admiration of the Singing Man
The Singing Man who felt so deeply
The nuances of life past, the nuances of life present
The Singing Man sang of pain, yet it wasn’t pain that he carried
He carried the subtle remnant emotion that had once made him feel alive

POETRY
It's been a while
since your beliefs are gone,
since this apathy
made you spend your way
to your last home,
a refugee, now in heaven
now in hell

I am on a train.
Heading towards London.
In between two worlds,
my head bouncing against the Window.
The train reaches Kings Cross station,
I zigzag the crowd,
a sea of rushing suites,
and in my empty seat,
a half read newspaper

CRISIS
Maintaining sanity, have some fun and enhance our survival and quality of our lives
I have coined this title for referring to my collection of the most potent, popular, brief and soothing words of wit and wisdom mainly Persian. My aim is to provide an alternative for ever-increasing trend in substance abuse or myriad of over-the counter or prescribed pills that are popped daily to cope with increasing stressful conditions associated with our 'modern' technological age. The greatest advantage of literary tranquilizers are their virtually no cost and lack of side effects provided that one gets addicted to them and loves them. Resorting to these should beat all other devastating addictions

POETRY
It aches from within
It pounds with every breath
Its waves pound the shores
The Ocean gods are mad
Heart that’s clear as water
Filtered through sands of life
Open to be hit any moment
Can not be otherwise

POETRY
I am giving birth for you
Giving birth to the
Infant of my heart
Labour was not hard, but agonizing
My baby doesn’t know anything
What is wrong? or what the world is?
He doesn’t see black or white
Everything is green
Everything is orange
Everywhere is colourful
