This sign says that donkey meat is like “Dragon meat from heaven”. It also says that donkey meat can make a man potent... it really cracked me up!
I saw this “Hejian Donkey Meat Restaurant”. I became a little curious ‘cause I never had donkey meat in my life. I decided to taste donkey meat for the first time.
This was the mimosa after I touched it. It closed up! It is so magic! I bought the plant for $1.00 and wanted to bring the plant back to US. My mimosa got thru the airports in Beijing and S. Korea without any problem. When I reached the airport of Honolulu, Hawaii, I saw a sign next to the x-ray machine saying that you will be fined $1000 if undeclared agricultural product is found. I got scared, so I threw away my mimosa into the trash can!
Six lane Chang’an avenue. There are 20 million people and 4.5 million vehicles including 70,000 taxis in Beijing.
The day before I left Beijing, I ran into a plant vendor on the street. I spotted Mimosa, the sensitive plant , on his cart. I had a mimosa plant when I was little. It was fun to touch the plant and see the leaves close up.
Beijing started to look like Hong Kong with tall buildings everywhere. They are still adding new tall buildings. I saw cranes a lot.
This is Zhong Nan Hai, not very far from Tiananmen Square. The top Chinese officials live here. I took this picture from my taxi window.
The vertical sign says the Hall of Great Achievement. The horizontal sign says the Mentor of 10,000 generations.
Glazed Memorial Arch in the Imperial College. Imperial College was the highest official institution during Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties.
